Christa Ahrens, MA, LPCC

Growing up in both Alaska and Hawaii, I learned early on to appreciate the vast beauty of nature as well as the many benefits of spending time outside. Incorporating outdoor sessions into my counseling practice is a natural fit.

Before becoming a counselor, I obtained bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing, specializing as a Nurse Practitioner in Women's Health. My own journey taught me that the connection between physical and emotional health is profound, and I made a shift towards counseling because it provides an opportunity to join clients on their journeys towards healing and restoration at a deeper level.

I graduated from Colorado Christian University with a Master of Arts in Counseling in 2017. My clinical experience includes working in both private practice and outpatient community mental health settings.

I enjoy bringing my knowledge of women's physical, emotional, sexual, and relational health into counseling, when appropriate. I utilize a variety of counseling methodologies including narrative therapy, interpersonal neurobiology, emotion-focused therapy, and object relations therapy. If you have questions about my background, services, or approach to therapy, please don't hesitate to contact me ahead of time or bring this up during our scheduled time together.
